fashion yearbook cover development...

Initial ideas for fashion yearbook front cover...
(please remember the raspberry side is upside down as it is a flip book)

Using type and a limited amount of colour to represent the different pathways.

I think the amount of colour in this spread is too much and is overpowering. Does not sit well with the high-end fashion vibe we want. (The slightly darker areas represent where the spot gloss would be applied).

Using the bottom of the banner to create a complete object where the information can be held. This could be developed onto the name tags, item pieces and other devices for the fashion show.

Sticking with the banner theme as I think this was key in the original design. The 2010 and pathway letter would simply be in spot gloss as I do not think the importance needs to focus on them.

Removing the banner and using the italic font to try and create something high-end and simple.

Moved the banner into the middle and removed the A and B. This is simple and clear.
Putting the banner onto its side and allowing it to be simply spot gloss. I do not think the positioning of the type works in the banner but I do like the 2010 and college name.
Trying to make it look like the banner has cut out letters and is using the colour underneath to show the letters. Do not think this works as it is too much, too busy.

Moved the 2010 as I felt it was too large and over powering. Still not right though.

Changing the balance of white space on the page is creating something more interesting but now think the is too much colour on the spread!

Reversed the colour and white around. However I now think the 2010 and college title is being made into the key part...

Putting the title and course into the coloured band at top and allowing the 2010 and college name to sit more quietly in the white space below. I am quite interested in this idea.
